Abby Mushin Terris, Lay Teacher
Mushin Terris is a lay teacher in western Oregon. She has been practicing Zen for nearly forty years and has led the Corvallis Zen Circle since its establishment in 1992.
Mushin began her formal study of Zen with Robert Aitken in 1975. She has also practiced with Takabayashi Genki, Roshi and the Seattle Zen Center and Joan Reick, Roshi and Three Treasures Sangha in Seattle before meeting Jan Chozen Bays in 1989. She is the senior lay student of Zen Community of Oregon and recieved Sangha Transmission from Chozen Roshi is 2013. She works as a mental health counselor and is the mother of two grown daughters.
Jogen Salzberg, Zen Priest
Adam Jogen Salzberg began practicing Zen meditation in 2000 and began full-time residential training at Great Vow Monastery in 2003. Jogen took novice Priest ordination in 2006 and was made a Zen Priest and Dharma Holder by Chozen Bays, Roshi and Zen Teacher Hogen Bays in 2012. He has sat over a hundred week-long sesshin and has taught meditation at Reed College in Portland since 2006. He currently serves as Director of Training at the monastery. In his free time he likes to paint pictures, write poems, and wander for wild mushrooms..
