Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
A gentle introduction to the foundations of mindfulness
May 8
A workshop on Mindfulness 9:00am - 5:00pm - Saturday Led by Laura Jomon Martin
Mindfulness is a way of learning to relate directly to whatever is happening in your life, a way of taking charge of your life, a way of doing something for yourself that no one else can do for you — consciously and systematically working with your own stress, pain, illness, and the challenges and demands of everyday life. |

Absolute beginners are encouraged. You will receive supportive, guided instruction in a variety of simple, accessible mindfulness practices. Even if you have never meditated before -- especially if you have never meditated before -- this day is designed for you. Restoring within yourself a balanced sense of health and well being requires increased awareness of all aspects of self, including body and mind, heart and soul. Mindfulness-based stress reduction is intended to ignite this inner capacity and infuse your life with awareness. Come experience a simple introduction to meditation practices, group dialogue, very gentle stretching and mindful yoga. These techniques are based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn, which has been clinically researched for nearly 30 years. |
