An Altar Reborn - November, 2009

Judy Seiko Stamp and her assistant Suzan Reed came out to the monastery to give the main altar a fresh look.

First the old altar cloths were removed, and the altar rolled outside.

Using the tractor the Buddha is lifted off the altar and set on the ground.
Seiko carefully places the new cloths on the altar.

The Buddha is re-set on the altar.

The altar is slid back into the zendo on a carpet.

Careful measurements are taken.

Seiko and Seitetsu put on the finishing touches and...

Beautiful!
