Communicating with your Beloved

June 13– 15

Weekend Retreat at Great Vow Zen Monastery

Led by LaShelle Charde & Daitetsu Hull

It’s easy to feel hopeless about repetitive conflicts and decide to just avoid talking to each other about certain topics.

I’m guessing that, in addition to better communication, you want: a deep sense of trust and knowing of each other, a greater ability to express and feel intimacy, a mutual experience of respect and affection.

In this weekend retreat we bring together the foundational practices of mindfulness and meditation with the practical framework and tools from Nonviolent Communication (NVC). We help you grow your relationship through a series of experiential exercises as well as direct teaching and coaching.

In the retreat you will:

•Learn the art of giving and receiving empathy
•Begin to transform your inner dialogue from one of judgment and blame to one of understanding and connection.
•Enjoy a safe space to work with issues in your relationship and see them in a new way through the framework of NVC.
•Gain insight about how meditation practice can support you in creating more peace and connection in your relationship.
•Relax and soak up the peaceful atmosphere of the monastery and its surrounding woods.

Join LaShelle and DT Hull to cultivate a consciousness and clarity that will enable you to create a life of greater meaning, ease, and joy.

The foundation for LaShelle Charde’s work comes from her Zen practice, experience as a trainer in personal growth, community building, and Nonviolent Communication. She holds a Master’s degree in psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. For the past twelve years, she’s worked as a professional helping youth and adults. Visit LaShelle's website.

Daitetsu Hull is a senior student at Great Vow Zen Monastery where he has been in formal training since September, 2000. He has studied and practiced NVC for much of that time.
