It Includes The Entire World – A Day Long Home Hermitage Meditation Retreat
January 15 - 16, 2021
Friday 6-8pm Saturday 6:30am - 9:00pm
Inspired by Shitou Xiqian’s classic practice poem, Song of the Grass Roof Hermitage, we will spend a day meditating in the intimate aloneness that embraces all beings. Doing sustained zazen in our own dwelling place and its wild domesticity invites the desired integration of the everyday and the sacred, fulfilling a fundamental vow.
This retreat is open for full time or partial attendance, if you are attending part-time consider designing a schedule that includes at least 4 hours of meditation.
This retreat will take place at Great Vow through the zoom app. You will receive a link to the retreat once you register. We will have a meeting with all those registered at 6PM Friday for an opening talk and to check in about the logistics, details and answer any practical questions about the retreat format.
Doing a retreat at home can be empowering, take up the practice in your own home and know the peace and clarity of mind in your own dwelling place! To support doing a day of retreat in your home we recommend doing the following:
