September 9, 2023
Saturday, September 9th, 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
In my tradition we learn that as individuals we cannot do much. That is why taking refuge in the sangha, taking refuge in the community, is a very strong and important practice. When I say, “I take refuge in the sangha,” it does not mean that I want to express my devotion. No. It’s not a question of devotion; it’s a question of practice. Without being in a sangha, without being supported by a group of friends who are motivated by the same ideal and practice, we cannot go far. – Thich Nhat Hanh
We are asking all in attendance to take a Rapid Covid Test before arrive. Thank you!
This year, let’s take refuge together in friendship and kindness. We are pleased to announce that we are once again offering the ZCO Annual Dinner. This is an opportunity to shmooze with community members, eat yummy food and who knows what kind of entertainment will manifest. 🙂
Let’s celebrate our simple accomplishment of maintaining this sacred vessel of practice. Heart of Wisdom Zen Temple and Great Vow Zen Monastery are only able to continue as long as practitioners with sincere hearts make it so. This dinner is in honor of each member of this community, with gratitude and in connection.
Please put September 9th on your calendar! And let us know you are coming! Please RSVP so we know how much food to prepare.
Thank you and take good care.
